Pressure-treated posts, hot-dipped or stainless hardware, and materials chosen for rain, salt air and shade.

Board-on-board, horizontal and lattice-top, in western red cedar.

No staining, no warping, and it holds its colour on the coast.

Full-height privacy where you want the yard to yourself.

Powder-coated steel and aluminium that holds up to salt air.

Wood-look panels that never need staining and hold their colour.

Composite, cedar and pressure treated, framed and footed for your ground.
Most Victoria work is replacement rather than new build. Character homes on small downtown lots mean fence lines that run tight to the boundary and have to be agreed with a neighbour before anything is dug. Rock sits close to the surface here, so post holes are rarely straightforward.

Constant damp, salt in the air near the water, and long shade that keeps timber from ever fully drying. Western red cedar still wins on looks and rot resistance, but it needs airflow and drainage to earn that. On a shaded lot, composite is often simply the better call, because it does not feed moss.

A fence or a deck is only as good as what is under it. We size footings for the soil we actually find on the site visit, not a number off a chart, and we set posts plumb and square before a single board goes on. Rock, clay, river flats and sand all get a different answer.

The quote covers the whole job in writing before anything is ordered. No allowances that move once the posts are in, and no subcontractor you have never met turning up halfway through. The team that measures is the team that walks it with you at the end.
